The Uesugi Festival is a big event in Yonezawa in spring.

Beginning with the opening festival, a ceremony called Takeyoshiki to pray to the gods and buddhas for victory, the armored procession of the Uesugi corps heading for the battlefield, and the climax of the Battle of Kawanakajima are reproduced on the Matsukawa riverbed.

Please take a look at the clash between Uesugi and Takeda, which is said to be the biggest and deadliest battle in the history of the Sengoku period.

Also, at the opening festival on April 29 (Sat.), many people will participate in folk song performances, stage events, and more.
