Roadside Station Gassan & the Gassan Asahi Museum is a complex with various facilities on a vast site.

There is a bouldering space, the Gassan Asahi Museum Cultural Creation Center with information on the former Asahi Village (now the Asahi district of Tsuruoka City), fast food corners, a soba shop and a souvenir shop which sells local soba flour and Gassan wine, characteristic for being made with local mountain grapes.
In addition, the view from the Nabira Snow Suspension Bridge over the Bonji River Valley is spectacular, especially during the fall foliage season.
