Dookonuma is a pond at the top of Zao.
The onsen resort is nowadays crowded with mountain villas and resort facilities.
Dooko is the name of one of the Buddhist altar fittings.
Zao Gongen is wielding a three-pronged pestle in his right hand. However, it is unknown how the name Dokko-numa came about.
