The Tendo Onsen district is located north of Mt. Maizuru. It started to develop in 1911 when a hot spring source was dug from a rice field.
Tendo Onsen has been developed as an accommodation base for sightseeing tours around the prefecture due to its facilities and location in the center of Yamagata Prefecture.
There are various types of accommodation, from modern hotels to pure Japanese-style inns.
There are three footbaths in the hot spring town, and you can enjoy a leisurely walk around the city along with Mt. Maizuru and the facilities scattered around the city.
