The Yamagata Prefectural Forest Kenmin-no-Mori was established in 1981 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the prefectural government in order to help improve the health and rest of the citizens of the prefecture and to foster a love for nature.

The vast grounds are full of facilities that children and adults can enjoy, such as obstacle courses, campgrounds, and woodworking craft classes.

It continues to be loved not only by the citizens of the prefecture but also by many people as a place where you can experience various things while interacting with nature, learn about the mystery and importance of the forest, and refresh yourself.

In addition to the permanent program that provides information on Kenmin-no-Mori, there is a counter for of wooden playsets, an exhibition room and a training room.
