At the junction of the prefectural road leading to Zao Dam and the Zao mountain climbing route, there is the Zao Gongen stele, the largest in the area (2.7m high and 2.15m wide).

There are 10 Zao Gongen steles in Yatsugamura, the former Higashizawa area, and 10 more at Kumanodake on the summit, for a total of 20.

All of them were built when the Zao faith was popular, and the Zao faith was worshiped as the god of water, the god of bountiful harvest, and the god of longevity, health, and multiplication. The trailhead of Zao Kodo (Takarazawaguchi).
