Myoken-sama is enshrined on the top of the mountain where you can see Yamagata City in the south of Myokendo Temple.

Gohonson’s Myoken Bodhisattva is a deification of the North Star, and is also known as Sonsei-o, or Hokushin Bodhisattva, a bodhisattva that protects the land, eliminates disasters, and amplifies longevity.

Although its shape is not determined, here it is depicted as a two-armed and a four-armed image, sitting in the clouds and riding a blue dragon.
