Festival Summer Popular Recommended Photos Girls Family Children Solo Culture

Dancers in splendid costumes dance enthusiastically with the chants of “Yassho Makasho” along the main street of downtown Yamagata City.

The hanagasa dance parade features the Hanagasa Odori ~Kunpu Mogami River~ (commonly known as the ladies’ dance), the Hanakasa Odori ~Zao Gyoukou~ (commonly known as the men’s dance), as well as the Obanazawa-style exhilarating Kasa spinning style hanagasa dance, and Creative Hanagasa Dance.

One of the highlights is that the design of the flower hats used differs depending on the dance.

There will also be a walk-in corner this year.
