Mt. Gassan seen from Mt. Maizuru
Mt. Maizuru, located in the center of Tendo city, is a symbol of the city and is popular with citizens. From the mountaintop observation square (reconstructed in 2009), you can see Mt. Gassan, the Asahi mountain range, and the Mogami river.
Mt. Maizuru is also known as a famous spot for cherry blossoms. On a weekend of late April, the Tendo Sakura Festival Human Shogi game will be held under approximately 2,000 cherry blossoms.
