Spring Popular Family Children Solo Nature Drive

Because the cherry trees of Nishi Zao are high above sea level, they are the slowest to bloom in Yamagata City and will be blooming around Golden Week some years.

The famous Oyama tree is said to have grown up since the Heian period. The poet Saigyo (1118~1190) made a haiku about it when he visited it.

Remarks: The best time to look at it is from late April to early May.
