Manager's thoughts
Mr. Pradip, who is from Nepal, has lived in Yamagata since 2004 and opened Café Himalaya in 2010.
“Following the Tohoku Earthquake & Tsunami of 2011, I decided that I should stay in Japan in these difficult times.”
“We started to do takeout this time because we wanted to help people like office workers and those living alone who had difficulty finding places to eat at. And our regulars too!”
Said Pradip.
In addition to the delicious dishes that you can hardly find anywhere else in Yamagata, there may be many customers who come to visit Mr. Pradip.
The staff is international including some from Nepal and Latin America!
The evening menu is abundant, so when everything comes back to normal make sure to come for dinner.
