Yamagata Marugotokan Beni-no-Kura
Yamagata Marugotokan Beni-no-Kura offers not only touristic information but also attractive seasonal Yamagata dishes in two restaurants and local specialties, including souvenirs but also safe, secure and fresh agricultural products in two shops. It is a facility that provides a unique Yamagata hospitality to visitors.
The buildings of this facility were the residence of the Hasegawa clan, who were once safflower merchants.
Based on the concept of “creating new charm and liveliness by utilizing the history and culture of Yamagata” Beni-no-Kura aims to reaffirm the attractiveness of Yamagata’s local resources, disseminate them throughout the country, develop bases for sightseeing in the city, and revitalize the downtown city area.
Facilities within the complex include:
・ Information Center: a base for sightseeing in the city, we will introduce information services for visitors to Yamagata and the charm of Yamagata.
・ JA Yamagata Farmer’s Market Beni-no-Kura Branch: Fresh, safe and secure products from local farmers
・ Souvenir shop Agarasshai: local products and souvenirs from Yamagata with some original Beni-no-Kura goods.
・Benisansui: enjoy the soba noodles that are “freshly grounded, freshly kneaded, and boiled boiled” to your heart’s content. You can also enjoy local Yamagata dishes.
・Café & Dining 990: a retro brewery and café with seasonal sweets and a menu of collaboration of French, Italian and Yamagata dishes served with fresh ingredients.
