Toyokocho is a food stall village that has newly opened in the Tendo Onsen area, with the concept of “creating international exchange and liveliness between generations in Tendo Onsen through food and shogi”.

There are eight food stalls including innovative restaurants that serve local dishes and sake of the Shonai and inland regions of Yamagata Prefecture, sushi and tempura restaurants that use local fish directly from the shores of Shonai, and restaurants that serve Yamagata’s famous cold niku-soba. Visitors will be delighted by the delicious food, sake, and the unique personality of the various owners.

The name of the stall village takes its origin in shogi.

There is a shogi table inside where you can play games freely, a unique touch characteristic for Tendo, the city of shogi.

As it is near the Tendo Onsen district, it is recommended for tourists and guests staying there.
